Congratulations to Prof. Jose Miguel Palomo Carmona and Prof. Dejan Bezbradica on receiving Horizon Europe grant Twinning project for development of prebiotics for gut and skin microbiota.
The Laboratory for Chemical Biology and Biocatalysis (Prof. Jose Miguel Palomo Carmona) (https://icp.csic.es/research/research-groups/chemical-biology-and-biocatalysis/home/), as CSIC coordinator, received a grant from the European Commission to partner Prof. Koen Venema (Maastricht University) and Prof. Ellen van den Bogaard (Radboudumc) to fortify the research programs of Prof. Dejan Bezbradica (University of Belgrade, Serbia). Last month the project started with a kick-off meeting in Belgrade celebrated 18th-20th September.
The TwinPrebioEnz project: In this three-year project called TwinPrebioEnz (Twinning for intensified enzymatic processes for production of prebiotic-containing functional food and bioactive cosmetics; 1,466,680 EUR), the CSIC is WP-leader and provides expertise in protein engineering, design, synthesis and analysis of novel carbohydrates for final evaluation as gut and skin prebiotics. CSIC will also aid in strengthening the management capacities of the Serbian partners and form a scientific community to train young scientists and support staff mobility between the partner institutes.
